Andrea Coltman Project Leader and Coordinator for Bank Street Residency and Residency Artist
Andrea is primarily a figurative painter whose paintings muse over societal issues, she regards herself as a social observer. Andrea paints what she sees, the ordinary and expected. Through crosshatchings of realism and abstraction in her paintings Andrea interrogates empathy, space and place exploring how we communicate and interact.
Her intentions for this residency are to study the people that she encouters around Canary Wharf be it in their work environment, on the construction site, her peers etc..

The Bank Street Residency Artists 2016 are made up of a group of emerging artists who are current students and recent graduates from UAL Wimbledon MFA. Additionally we are delighted to include a current MA Student from UCA, a BA Photography graduate and a recent BA Fine Art graduate both from University of Kent.
